General requirements
All individuals, Italian citizens and non, holding valid qualifications to access university courses can enroll in course units for maximum 36 credits (CFU) per academic year. Non-Europeans living abroad must apply considering the eligibility criteria and procedures available on the following link http://www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri/.
Enrollment in course units is valid for one academic year. Examinations may be taken in all sessions available for the academic year of enrollment.
Enrollment and examination results are regularly certified.
Specific requirements set by Departments
The first cycle Degree Course in Lingue e Mediazione Linguistico Culturale (L-12) does not allow enrollment in course units for first year English, French, Portuguese-Brazilian, German, Spanish, Russian, Arabic and Chinese language and translation courses.
The first cycle Degree Course in Lingue e Letterature per la Comunicazione Interculturale (L-11) allows enrollment in course units only for first year English, French, Spanish, Spanish-American, German, and Russian Literature courses. It is not possible to enroll in course units for second and third year Foreign Literature courses.
The second cycle Degree Course in Lingue e Letterature per la Didattica e la Traduzione (LM-37) does not allow enrollment in course units for first and second year foreign literature courses.
The first cycle Degree Course in Scienze e Culture enogastronomiche (L-26) does not allow enrollment in course units leading to the acquisition of proficiencies.
How and when to enroll
Academic Year 2023-2024
To enroll, access your Login page and fill out the online enrolment form for course units. Please refer to the Instructions link for printing the fee payment slip.
There is no need to hand over to the offices the application or other documents, except for foreign academic degrees. In this case, follow the instructions available at page Enrollment with a foreign qualification/Awarding of an Italian degree (equipollenza) – Portale dello Studente (uniroma3.it).
Enrollment periods
Application on line for single course units: from September 20, 2023 to April 20, 2024
- Enrollment and tuition fees payment for course units delivered in the first semester: within December 15, 2023
- Enrollment and tuition fees payment for course units delivered in the first and second semester: within May 10, 2024

Those registering for course units 2023-2024 can take the relevant exams within the fall session of the academic year (September 2024). Please, check the schedule of exams published by each Department.
