Seminar Series

Questa serie di seminari e incontri rappresenta la seconda parte della Winter/Summer School “Critical Approaches to Global Food Law and Policy”, organizzata dall’Università di Anversa in collaborazione con il Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici dell’Università degli Studi Roma Tre.
Le attività mirano ad approfondire la conoscenza degli apparati normativi, delle politiche, delle narrazioni, dei meccanismi di coordinamento e degli strumenti di misurazione che caratterizzano la governance globale del sistema alimentare, con particolare attenzione alla loro connessione con i programmi e le attività delle agenzie delle Nazioni Unite con sede a Roma.
Gli studenti che parteciperanno al seminario faranno parte del gruppo che ha già preso parte alla prima fase del programma, svoltasi ad Anversa nel mese di febbraio.

Per ottenere 3 CFU, i partecipanti dovranno frequentare tutte le sessioni in programma e redigere un saggio finale (massimo 1500 parole) sugli argomenti discussi durante i seminari e gli incontri.
Programma
Lunedì 6 luglio – Presentazione delle attività e lezioni sulla storia e sul funzionamento delle agenzie ONU con sede a Roma, presso la FAO.
Martedì 7 luglio – Incontri con il Right to Food Team e con l’High Level Panel of Experts (HLPE) presso la FAO (mattina); visite e lavori di gruppo (pomeriggio).
Mercoledì 8 luglio – Incontri con i rappresentanti del Food Policy for Rome.
Giovedì 9 luglio – Incontro con i funzionari del Farmers’ Forum, Value Chains e Agroecology presso la sede centrale dell’IFAD (mattina); visite e lavori di gruppo (pomeriggio).
Venerdì 10 luglio – Presentazioni finali dei gruppi di lavoro degli studenti (mattina).
Le lezioni e le attività si svolgeranno in lingua inglese.
Come partecipare

A causa della disponibilità limitata di ulteriori 5 posti, gli studenti interessati devono allegare alla propria candidatura una breve lettera di motivazione (uno o due paragrafi) da inviare a mario.deprospo@uniroma3.it entro il 1° maggio.
 

This series of seminars and meetings is the second part of the Critical Approaches to Global Food Law and Policy summer/winter school, organized by The University of Antwerp in collaboration with Roma Tre, Department of Humanities.
The activities aim to highlight the laws, policies, narratives, coordination, and measurement of the global governance of the food system in direct connection with the programs and activities of the Rome UN-based agencies.
The students will be part of the group that had already participated in the first part held in Antwerp in February.
To be credited 3 CFU, participants must attend every session and write a final essay (1500 words maximum) on topics discussed during the classes and the activities.
PROGRAM
Monday, July 6th  – Presentation of the school's activities and classes on the history and functioning of Rome-based agencies at FAO headquarters
Tuesday, July 7th  – Meeting with Right to Food Team and the High Level Panel of Experts - HLPE at FAO headquarters (morning); field and group work (afternoon)
Wednesday, July 8th  – Group visit to IFAD (morning); group work and interviews (afternoon)
Thursday, July 9th  – Visit the Right to Food Team at FAO headquarters (morning); field and group work (afternoon)
Friday, July 10th  – Final presentations of students’ work groups at Roma Tre university
Classes and activities will be in English language.
