Mercoledì 20 maggio alle ore 14:00, nell'ambito dei Junior Seminars dei dottorandi di Matematica, Roberto Vacca (Università di Roma Tor Vergata) terrà il seminario dal titolo "From polynomial equations to vector bundles".
Abstract: Roughly speaking, algebraic geometry studies the set of solutions to a system of polynomial equations by seeing it as a geometrical object inside projective space: an algebraic variety. The problem of finding a minimal set of equations or being able to express them in special forms, like determinants of matrices with polynomial entries, has classically attracted attention. In this talk we discuss some aspects of this theory and its connections to algebraic vector bundles on our varieties.
