BEFORE COMING TO ROMA TRE
NOMINATION AND APPLICATION
To carry out the Erasmus+ mobility at Roma Tre students have to:
1. be nominated by their Home University through sending an e-email to the Roma Tre International Students Office at students@uniroma3.it
2. wait for the welcome email from the Roma Tre International Students Office containing the necessary information for the next steps;
3. follow the instructions in the welcome email to complete the Application Form
PLEASE NOTE: Personal data (surname(s), name(s), date of birth and place of birth) must exactly match those shown on the ID card/passport.
IMPORTANT: the student must download the Application Form PDF, sign it, have it signed by their Home University, and upload it using the temporary link they will receive by email.
VISA AND TAX CODE
Non-EU citizens residing abroad must apply for the VISA to entering in Italy.
The issuing of entry visas for Italy is the responsibility of the Italian Embassy or Consulate in the student’s Country of residence.
The type of visa depends on the lasting of the mobility period spent at Roma Tre:
- Study visa (type D), if the stay exceeds 90 days;
- Or a short-stay visa for short-term mobility.
In some cases, the consular authority also issues the TAX CODE (ita “codice fiscale”), which the student needs to receive their scholarship payment and gain access to a range of services once they arrive in Italy.
PLEASE NOTE: the Erasmus grant cannot be disbursed without an official “Codice Fiscale”.
LEARNING AGREEMENT
The Learning Agreement must be agreed upon with the Home University coordinator and the Roma Tre Erasmus Coordinator of the relevant Department. The student may contact the Roma Tre Erasmus Coordinator by email to request the signature BEFORE arriving in Rome.
IMPORTANT: the Learning Agreement must be signed by all three parties: 1) the student, 2) the Home University coordinator, 3) the Roma Tre coordinator.

INSURANCE
We inform you that, following the registration at our Institution, students will be covered by insurance for accident and third-party liability at the expense of the Roma Tre for incidents occurring during educational activities at Roma Tre.
Health insurance coverage is mandatory and must be covered by you or by your home institution. Basic coverage might be provided by the national health insurance of the participant. However, the coverage may not be sufficient, especially in case of repatriation and specific medical intervention. In that case, a complementary private insurance might be useful. It is the responsibility of the sending institution of the student to ensure that the participant is aware of health insurance issues.
APPOINTMENT FOR THE SIGNATURE OF THE GRANT AGREEMENT
Before coming to Rome, students has to fix an appointment with the International Students Office via email incoming.students@uniroma3.it in order to sign the Grant Agreement and issue the Certificate of Arrival.
ONCE AT ROMA
RESIDENT PERMIT (PERMESSO DI SOGGIORNO)
For stays in Italy lasting longer than 90 days, foreign students are required to regularize their status in the Country by applying for a residence permit (Permesso di soggiorno) for study purposes within 8 working days of their arrival in Italy.
The application must be submitted at an authorised post office (Sportello Amico), by completing the relevant application pack for the issue of a residence permit for study purposes.
To support the residence permit application, students must attach documentation confirming the enrolment or admission at the university.
FIRST APPOINTMENT
During the first appointment the student will sign the Grant Agreement.
In order to allow the issuance of the GA, the student is required to provide the International Students Office, during the first appointment, with the following documents and information:
- ID card or Passport (copies are not accepted);
- tax code declaration (ita “certificato di attribuzione del codice fiscale”);
- bank account details:
- Bank account holder (NOTE: the student must be the only holder of the account)
- Bank name
- Clearing/BIC/SWIFT number
- IBAN (International Bank Account Number) or BBAN (Basic Bank Account Number)
- Banking data (ita “Numero conto corrente”)
- Address of the bank
- Additional banking details
- Tax residence
- Learning Agreement signed by 1) the applicant, 2) the Home University coordinator, 3) the Roma Tre coordinator.
If one or more documents/information are missing, it will not be possible to disburse the grant.
GRANT
The individual support and travel contribution are provided in accordance with the Erasmus+ programme rules.
The final amount of Erasmus+ EU funds for the mobility period shall be determined by multiplying the number of months of the mobility by the applicable monthly rate.
In the case of incomplete months, the financial support from Erasmus+ EU funds is calculated by multiplying the number of days in the incomplete month by 1/30 of the unit cost per month.
WELCOME DAY
All students are invited to attend the Welcome Day in person, during which all useful information for the study period at Roma Tre will be provided.
The Welcome Day for the 1st semester (fall semester) or for the full academic year will take place:

For 2nd semester (spring semester) students, the Welcome Day will take place in the second half of February 2027 (date to be confirmed).
ENROLLMENT AT ROMA TRE
After the Welcome Day, or upon arrival in Rome and registration as an “Erasmus incoming student”, each incoming student will receive via email from the International Students Office the credentials to access the Personal Area of the Student Portal (GOMP).
From the personal area on the Student Portal (GOMP), it will be possible, independently, booking the exams and downloading the Transcript of Records.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE
The attendance certificate will be sent from the International Students Office via email once the study period at Rome Tre is formally finished.
The last appointment (to be fixed in advance with the ISO) will finalise and formalise your departure and the end of the mobility period.
